Ayurvedic Heritage

Ayurveda refers to a coconut tree having been called Kalpa Vriksha, literally the tree that supplies all that is needed to live. According to Ayurveda, coconut oil has pitta pacifying or cooling properties. Changes in heat and temperature create a disturbance in pitta dosha, a pitta imbalance, causing sensitive skin syndromes such as eczema, acne and rosacea. Lauric acid, the predominant medium-chain fatty acid found in Coconut oil, has proven antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory benefits effective at soothing and calming pitta imbalances.

Skincare Benefits

Coconut oil provides many benefits for skin, including reducing inflammation, keeping skin moisturized, helping heal wounds and provides SPF support. The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also possess antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria.
