about ranu

“Unfortunately, there are over 20,000 children in Sri Lanka who don’t have parents. Many have no access to food, clothes or education. Ranu’s goal is to ensure that no child will worry where their next meal is coming from and that they are given tools to strive and achieve. By providing these children with education & wellness, we will help them build their dreams into reality.

“The Ranu family is committed to building a solid foundation of support for the children of Sri Lanka.”

– Arthy Sivabalan (Founder of Ranu)

A portion of all Ranu proceeds will be applied toward adopting children and providing support so that they are able to receive proper nutrition and attend school. Ranu also participates in a community outreach program that helps bring cooked meals to underprivileged families.

founder

As a young child, founder Arthy Sivabalan was taught the importance of using naturally-sourced, nourishing ingredients to balance her mind, body and spirit.

As she grew up, she learned the secret to attaining a healthy, glowing complexion by sourcing ingredients and mixing her family’s recipes to clear blemishes, reduce discoloration and brighten skin.

Arthy noticed the stark contrast between the treatments she was formulating at home and the products that were being sold in stores. She observed the watered-down ingredients and deceptive promises in products touted as “must-haves.”

The lack of authentic, Ayurvedic products in the marketplace, coupled with her transformative experience with her family’s formulations, inspired Arthy to create Ranu.

what is ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient holistic system of medicine that has been practiced for more than 5,000 years throughout Eastern Asia. It translates to "Knowledge of Life.”

Developed during a period of great spiritual enlightenment, the great sages of Eastern Asia recognized the close relationship between humans and the Universe. In so doing, they were able to unlock the body’s own intelligence and repair systems.

By mixing potent herbs, maintaining specific lifestyle practices and engaging in daily rituals, they were able to maintain and restore balance, health and beauty.

ranu's mandala

Our logo features the Mandala, made out of the Lotus flower. The leaves point upwards and downwards, connecting heaven to earth (spiritual world to physical world) and East to West (ancient Eastern wisdom to modern Western lifestyle). The smaller Lotus inside the outer Lotus represents ancient Ayurvedic wisdom handed down from one generation to the next, and the connection of outer to inner.
